Many would say that the matchless G45 is the most beautiful of all the British racing bikes of the fifties. Employing the proven AJS 7R cycle parts (but with subtle variations) with the more powerful 500 twin, the G45 was designed as a pair to the 7R for the club racer. Prone to engine failure at higher revs, it was not an outstanding success on the race track. However, less than 200 were ever made and many simply did not survive the rigours of 50s racing. Now a prized part of any collection, this particular machine is one of the very last ever made and is in concours condition.
