1939 Triumph Tiger 100
The sports version of the Speed Twin, the rare Tiger first appeared in 1939 and production lasted little more than one year (a few were made in 1940). Designed to achieve 100mph Òout-of-the-crateÓ, the Tiger boats a higher compression ratio than the Speed Twin and different cams. In order to handle the stresses of the more powerful tuning, the barrel to crankcase was changed to the 8 stud arrangement that continued until the demise of the pre-unit 500 in late 1957. This particular example was the prize piece of a private museum. Paintwork and chrome is perfect, as you would expect. Engine
