STOLEN
This machine was purpose-built by the factory for Clubman's racing purposes. Manx components include flywheel assembly, magnesium front wheel and guards. Distinguishing features include chin pad loops on tank and fluted lugs on plunger units. Tanks were chromed. Well-known sprint bike at Brighton in the 50s and early 60s with a best time of 13.9 seconds for the 1/4 mile. Bought by myself in 1985 in partnership with ex-pat Australian David Christian, formerly of 9 Little Brownings, Sydenham Rise E23, London UK and member of the West Kent branch of the Vintage Motorcycle Club. Without asking me, David sold the complete machine for about £9,000 around 1989 and kept the money. It was not his motorcycle to sell. Since then he has inherited considerable money but, despite numerous requests through mutual friends, will not pay me the £4,500 he owes. If you read this and know David, let him know his name is being spread throughout the motorcycling universe as a dishonest person. James Lansdowne Norton himself is very displeased and David, I am assured, can expect no respite from his conscience in the next dimension. He can have conscience assuaged and his name removed from this site simply by sending me £6,000. If you have any information regarding David Christian's whereabouts, please let me know via Contact on this site. License No PPH 76 (UK)
